How do I get a library card?
You are eligible for a Basalt Regional Library Distirct account if you already have a valid account with another Colorado library or if you live in our district. If you are under 16 years old, you need a parent or guardian to come into the library to sign for your account. If you are 16 or older, you may stop in the library or fill out an application online. Here are some close-up maps of different areas in our district to help you determine if we are your home library: Old Snowmass, Missouri Heights, East Basalt, and West Basalt.
When are my books due?
If you have your library card you can check Your Account online by typing in all of the numbers on the barcode without the spaces. If you don't know your account number, you can contact us to find out. 970-927-4311
Does the library have internet and/or wireless access?
The library does offer free wireless internet service during our business hours. We also have 8 computers with public internet access, 6 are connected to a black and white printer. You may use a computer for one session per day. Sessions from 3-5pm are 30 minutes in length; all other sessions are one hour. Printing is $.20 per page. If you have a Basalt library card, you can type in your barcode to begin your session. If you do not have a library card, you must sign up at the desk for a one-time use number.
When is the library open?
The library is open Monday through Thursday from 9am to 7pm and Friday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm. We are closed on Sunday and some holidays as posted.

Does the library take book donations?
At this time the library is not taking book donations due to a lack of storage space. If you have book donations, please take them to the library in Carbondale or Glenwood Springs.
