Was your New Year’s resolution to try to make a difference in the world? Would you like to become a part of your community? Have we got a deal for you! The Library’s Board of Trustees has three openings for interested district residents. One seat representing Pitkin County, one representing Eagle County, and one seat representing the Town of Basalt will each be vacant. Board meetings are on the second Monday of each month at 5:30 pm, with occasional other meetings. Applying is easy: you are just a click away on this website. VacanciesThere will be three trustee vacancies to be filled by March 12, 2012. The term is for three years. One applicant will be chosen from Pitkin County, one from Eagle County and one from the Town of Basalt. The only requirement is that you live in the part of the district for which you are applying. We're looking for people who care about books and reading, who believe in the power of information, and who want to be an advocate for public libraries. There will be advertisements for these openings appearing in the Aspen Times four times prior to February 3rd, 2012. The application deadline is February 3rd, 2012. Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 5:30 pm, with occasional other meetings scheduled as needed. Interviews will be held at the regular library Board meeting on Monday, February 13, 2012, shortly after 5:30pm.
